A MASSIVE Walking Bridge in Currumbin

The proposed Currumbin Creek Walking Bridge has everyone talking! Click here to view the two proposed bridges set to change the landscape of the Southern Gold Coast.

Which bridge do you prefer?

Transport and Main Roads have recently released some concept pics for the Currumbin Active Transport Bridge, and it's caused a bit of a stir on the Gold Coast!

Friends of Currumbin have been around since the 70s and they're not too thrilled with the idea of an elevated bridge. They contend a lower bridge for pedestrians and cyclists would be cheaper and also give motorists a better view of the beautiful Currumbin estuary as they drive along the Gold Coast Highway.

On the other hand, the higher bridge would provide amazing views all the way to Surfers Paradise for those cycling or walking. The higher bridge also provides a much better clearance for boats to get through (although most boats would get through just fine with the lower bridge as well).

Whatever your thoughts are, make sure you let your voice be heard during the public consultation process. This is your chance to have a say and make a difference in our community.

So, let's hear it folks! Which side are you on?

P.S: 🚊 The Gold Coast Light Rail is proposed for the Western side of the bridge…but we’ll leave that one for another day
